Tube Style Waterbeds are Softside Waterbeds that use tubes, rather than bladders.
These are shallower than bladder style softside waterbeds as a rule. |

Softside mattresses offer several great advantages:
- The water is trapped in a head - foot direction providing a limited path of travel
- Each sleeper has their own tubes so that there is little disturbance between sleepers
- They are much lighter than a full waterbed mattress and allow you to fill and empty them without special equipment simply by carrying them to the sink.
- By using different amounts of water, different firmness settings can be made to each side of the bed.
- Smaller models can safely be used where weight is a consideration, as in older buildings.
- Use standard sizes for linens, nothing special to hunt down.
- Most pillowtop models do not require heaters.
